{"id":7084,"date":"2025-04-28T12:40:20","date_gmt":"2025-04-28T19:40:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/theoryofeverything.org\/theToE\/?p=7084"},"modified":"2025-06-24T07:25:07","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T14:25:07","slug":"updated-toe-summary-of-fundamental-constants-and-a-more-natural-unit-of-measure-uom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/theoryofeverything.org\/theToE\/2025\/04\/28\/updated-toe-summary-of-fundamental-constants-and-a-more-natural-unit-of-measure-uom\/","title":{"rendered":"Updated ToE Summary of Fundamental Constants and a &#8220;more&#8221; Natural Unit-of-Measure (UoM)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/theoryofeverything.org\/theToE\/2013\/04\/06\/mytoe-updated-from-2013-planck-spacecraft-and-2012-lhc-results\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">post from 2013<\/a>, I summarized the findings of my original 1997 paper (<a href=\"https:\/\/theoryofeverything.org\/TOE\/JGM\/ToE.pdf\" title=\"\">updated in 2007<\/a>) documenting a new FineStructureConstant (<em>\u03b1<\/em>) based set of definitions for the fundamental constants (c, \u0127, G<sub>N<\/sub>, and H<sub>0<\/sub>) . That post was needed due to updates from 2013 Planck spacecraft CMB (H<sub>0<\/sub>) results and the 2012 LHC confirmation of finding the mass of the Higgs boson (m<sub>Higgs<\/sub>).<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theoryofeverything.org\/TOE\/JGM\/ConstantEquality.svg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>About the same time, Wolfram Mathematica deprecated their PhysicalConstants package in order to provide for more robust curated datasets (e.g. CODATA ParticleData) which includes Quantity (exact or with experimental uncertainties) and UnitConvert capability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I had maintained my own version of this package in order to add a custom UoM with conversions between it and the SI UoM based on my analysis of a possible unification of the fundamental constants and dimensional relationships of (L)ength, (T)ime, (M)ass, and (C)harge. These strongly indicate an 8D (E<sub>8<\/sub>) fine structure linked <em>a posteriori<\/em> particle mass prediction of the Higgs boson mass=124.44 GeV\/C<sup>2<\/sup> and cosmological constants of gravity (G<sub>N<\/sub>) and H<sub>0<\/sub>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This post provides for the integration of that newer Wolfram Mathematica capability as well as the 2019 redefinition of the SI UoM which replaced some measures with exact unit definitions. These changes are described on Wikipedia <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2019_revision_of_the_SI\" title=\"\">here<\/a> and by Wolfram&#8217;s Chief Scientist Michael Trott <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.wolfram.com\/2019\/03\/29\/exact-uncertaintiesphysical-constants-in-the-current-and-in-the-new-si\/\" title=\"\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My Powerpoint overview is <a href=\"https:\/\/theoryofeverything.org\/TOE\/JGM\/MLT Dimensions-1d.ppsx\" title=\"\">here<\/a> with the first slide shown below:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/theoryofeverything.org\/TOE\/JGM\/MLT Dimensions-1d-Slide-1.svg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\" noreferrer noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/theoryofeverything.org\/TOE\/JGM\/MLT Dimensions-1d-Slide-1.svg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Mass-Length-Time (MLT) UoM with Fundamental Constants compared with SI UoM with 2019 exact and experimental error bars.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This new Time Unified UoM identifies a UnitLength= \u03b1\/Rydberg Constant (R<sub>\u221e<\/sub>) associated with atomic mass spectroscopy and UnitAcceleration that is 4\u03c0(cH<sub>0<\/sub>=Acceleration AssociatedWith CosmologicalExpansion Rate) as a a dimensionless unit with UnitLength=(complexified UnitTime)<sup>2<\/sup>. It links the macro (cosmological) to the micro (nuclear\/chemical) scales via integer exponents (dimensions) related to the FineStructureConstant (\u03b1). Other notable defining constants are a 4D (TimeUnit<sup>4<\/sup>) UnitCharge and 8D c=\u03b1<sup>-8<\/sup> UnitVelocity, <em><s>h<\/s><\/em>=\u03b1<sup>-8<\/sup> UnitAction, and Newton&#8217;s GravitationalConstant (G<sub>N<\/sub>~4\u03c0H<sub>0<\/sub>~\u03b1<sup>8<\/sup>\/UnitTime).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>See below a list of the constants and UoM elements for SI, Natural (Planck or geometrized) units, and my own &#8220;more Natural&#8221; Time Unified UoM, which includes the Higgs mass (<em>a posteriori<\/em>) postdiction.
